The 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) convened its fourth plenary session in Beijing from October 20 to 23, 2025. This landmark session, deliberated on the country's 15th Five-Year Plan, establishing a comprehensive policy roadmap for China's modernization drive over the next five years.
It was stated in the communique that China should promote high-standard opening-up and create new horizons for mutually beneficial cooperation. The CPC also noted that they should take the initiative to open China wider, promote the innovative development of trade, create greater space for two-way investment cooperation, and pursue high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.
Shakyet Hossan, a Bangladeshi employee at Xiamen C&D, said in an interview with China Youth Daily that China's high-standard opening-up benefits global cooperation and the Belt and Road Initiative has left a lasting impression on him.
"I believe the Belt and Road Initiative is a globally influential platform for cooperation that fosters not only international trade, but also infrastructure development, connectivity, and shared growth." Shakyet Hossan said, taking Bangladesh as an example, a number of key projects under the Belt and Road Initiative - such as the China-Bangladesh Friendship Bridge, the Padma Bridge Rail Link have injected new momentum into Bangladesh's economic growth. These projects have improved transportation networks, enhanced logistics efficiency, and accelerated Bangladesh's industrialization and regional integration.

He added that the Belt and Road Initiative has enabled him to engage in broader international cooperation. Working as a Bangladeshi business professional in China, he has seen first-hand how Chinese enterprises engage with the global market, embracing openness and inclusivity to achieve mutual success. This philosophy has had a profound influence on his professional outlook and way of thinking.
Shakyet Hossan also noted that China's continuous efforts to optimize its business environment and create more opportunities for global talent and enterprises has left a lasting impression on him.
