Some people think that it is better to use scientific techniques to grow food, while others think that we should grow food naturally. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
1. 科學種植方的論點與論據(jù);
2. 自然種植方的論點與論據(jù);
1. scientific techniques
2. grow food naturally

Introduction
In recent decades, the debate over food farming methods has become increasingly contentious. While some individuals firmly advocate the use of scientific technologies, there are those who staunchly oppose it, insisting that naturally-grown crops are far more beneficial to human well-being and the environment.
解析
? contentious adj.有爭議的,引起爭論的;
? staunchly adv.堅定地;忠實地;
Body paragraph 1
Proponents of scientific farming highlight its significant edge in terms of boosting output. High-yield crop varieties, developed through genetic modification, possess remarkable pest and drought resistance, which traditional crops, constrained by their natural genetic traits, rarely have. A prime example is hybrid rice, which has made a substantial contribution to addressing global food security challenges by greatly increasing yield compared to conventional inbred rice. In addition, hydroponics and vertical farming, two groundbreaking scientific methods, allow food to be grown in barren lands, which, in turn, diminishes the need for deforestation to expand farmland,thereby better protecting ecological equilibrium. For densely populated countries, these technologies are not merely convenient but necessary to feed expanding populations without further deforestation or environmental degradation.
解析
? proponents n. <正式> 支持者,建議者;
? boost v.使增長,推動;
? genetic modification基因改造、基因轉變;
? constrain v.驅使;強迫;
? hybrid adj.混合的;雜交成的;
? substantial adj.大量的,價值巨大的;
? address v.處理,設法解決;
? hydroponics n.水栽培,水耕法;
? vertical farming 垂直農業(yè);
? groundbreaking adj.開創(chuàng)性的;
? barren adj.貧瘠的,不毛的;不結果實的;
? equilibrium n.平衡,均衡;
Body paragraph 2
Opponents, conversely, argue that naturally-grown crops offer more tangible boons. They point out that organic agriculture avoids the use of artificial chemicals, which may leave toxic residues in food and contaminate soil and water sources. Traditional crop rotation, a practice that has been employed for centuries, preserves soil fertility without relying on synthetic additives. This eco-friendly approach is often unattainable in modern intensive farming, which heavily depends on chemical inputs. For consumers increasingly concerned about food safety and environmental impact, natural produce offers a more sustainable and healthy choice.
解析
? tangible adj.明確的,真實的;
? boon n.裨益,優(yōu)勢,有用的東西;
? residue n.剩余物,殘留物;
? contaminate v.污染,弄臟;
? fertility n.肥沃,富饒;
? synthetic adj.合成的,人造的;
? additive n.添加劑,添加物;
? unattainable adj.做不到的;難到達的;
Conclusion
In my opinion, neither extreme position is advisable. Scientific food production addresses the urgent need for quantity and efficiency, while natural farming ensures quality and environmental sustainability. A balanced approach that harnesses the strengths of both methods—supporting technological innovation alongside responsible organic practices—will best enable humanity to achieve food security without compromising the health of people or the planet.
解析
? harness v.控制并利用;連接,串聯(lián);
? innovation n.新事物,新方法;革新,創(chuàng)新;
? compromise v.妥協(xié),讓步;
