As the morning sun filters through the forests of the Loni Nature Reserve, illuminating the courtyard of the Singapore Island Country Club (SICC, The Bukit), the building at 240 Sime Road becomes a perfect venue for the fusion of nature and humanity. From an artistic perspective, the interior and exterior design is more than a simple spatial construction; rather, it embodies a visual narrative centered on the theme of "symbiosis with nature," where every detail speaks to the close connections between people and nature, community, and family.

當清晨的陽光穿過新加坡洛尼自然保護區的林間縫隙，灑在新加坡島嶼鄉村俱樂部（SICC，The Bukit）的庭院中，這片坐落于 240 號 sime 路的建筑，便成了自然與人文交融的絕佳載體。從藝術視角解讀，這里的室內外裝飾裝修設計，并非簡單的空間搭建，而是一場以 “自然共生” 為主題的視覺敘事，每一處細節都在訴說著人與自然、社區與家庭的緊密聯結。

The exterior design takes "respect for nature" as its starting point, embracing the site's inherent ecological context as the soul of the design. Eschewing the traditional golf club practice of excessive land modification, the architects cleverly utilized the natural elevation difference between the road and the terrain to create a unique green terrace and underground parking. Requiring no additional excavation, the site's ecological integrity is preserved while the building appears to have grown naturally from the earth. Verdant terraces ascend layer by layer, seamlessly connecting with the surrounding woodland landscape. Strolling along, swaying greenery touches your feet, birdsong echoes in your ears, and a gentle breeze, carrying the fragrance of the trees, caresses your face, completely enveloping your senses in nature. The central landscaped swimming pool is a stunning addition, cleverly framed by the surrounding trees. Its waters reflect the blue sky and foliage, seemingly "intercepting" a piece of nature into the clubhouse, becoming a central space for members to relax and connect. Here, whether you’re sitting alone by the pool in the afternoon or strolling on the terrace with your family in the evening, you can feel the healing power of nature. This is the emotional value that design gives to the space - allowing people to find a quiet corner to communicate with nature in their busy lives.

室外設計以 “尊重自然” 為起點，將場地原有的生態肌理視作設計的靈魂。建筑師摒棄了傳統高爾夫俱樂部對場地的過度改造，而是巧妙利用道路與地形間的自然高差，打造出獨特的綠色平臺與地下停車場。無需額外開挖，既保留了場地的生態完整性，又讓建筑仿佛從土地中自然生長而出。 verdant（蔥郁的）露臺層層遞進，與周邊的林地景觀無縫銜接，漫步其上，腳邊是搖曳的綠植，耳畔是林間的鳥鳴，微風裹挾著草木的清香拂過臉頰，感官被自然全方位包裹。中央景觀泳池更是點睛之筆，被周邊的樹木巧妙框定，池水倒映著藍天與枝葉，仿佛將自然的一部分 “截取” 進俱樂部，成為會員們休憩、交流的核心場所。在這里，無論是午后獨自靜坐池邊，還是傍晚與家人漫步露臺，都能感受到自然給予的治愈力量，這便是設計賦予空間的情感價值 —— 讓人們在忙碌生活中，尋得一處與自然對話的靜謐角落。

The interior design continues the concept of "natural infiltration," while balancing functional flexibility and community inclusion. The 9m x 9m modular space allows for flexible adaptation to accommodate diverse needs, accommodating both family events and community gatherings. The layered facade allows natural light to enter from multiple angles, illuminating the space while blurring the visual boundary between inside and out. From inside, through the transparent windows and doors, guests can gaze out onto the lush greenery of the courtyard, creating a sense of being immersed in nature. The material palette incorporates a generous use of wood and natural stone. The warm tones of the wood complement the rustic textures of the stone, creating an intimate and comfortable atmosphere that dispels the sense of distance often associated with traditional clubs. This design not only fulfills functional requirements but also carries emotional value: as families gather around the wooden tables for dinner, and as community members participate in activities within the adaptable space, the building becomes a bond that connects families and neighbors, embodying the project's primary design principle of "focusing on family and fostering community engagement."

室內設計則延續了 “自然滲透” 的理念，同時兼顧功能的靈活性與社區的包容性。9 米 ×9 米的標準模塊化空間設計，讓各個場館能根據不同需求靈活改造，既可以舉辦家庭親子活動，也能容納社區聚會。分層的外立面設計，讓自然光能夠多角度進入室內，照亮空間的同時，也讓室內外的視覺邊界變得模糊 —— 坐在室內，透過通透的門窗，便能看見室外的庭院綠植，仿佛身處自然之中。材質選擇上，大量運用原木與天然石材，溫暖的木色搭配質樸的石材紋理，營造出親切、舒適的氛圍，消解了傳統俱樂部的距離感。這種設計不僅滿足了功能需求，更承載著情感價值：當家庭成員圍坐在原木材質的餐桌旁共享晚餐，當社區居民在靈活改造的空間里參與活動，建筑便成了維系親情、聯結鄰里的紐帶，呼應了項目 “以家庭為中心、促進社區參與” 的設計初衷。

The humanistic depth of the design is vividly reflected in the "Family Forest" concept. Breaking with the traditional sport-centric design paradigm of golf clubs, the architects prioritized family and community. The outdoor green terrace serves as a playground for children to run and play, while the flexible indoor spaces provide a place for seniors to socialize, allowing people of all ages to find their own personal space. This design reflects a profound understanding of people's emotional needs: a golf club should not simply be a venue for exercise, but a warm space for family reunion and intergenerational interaction. As one club member put it, "Before, when I brought my child to the club, I had to wait. Now, he can play with other children on the green terrace while I relax with my family by the pool. This design makes our family time even more wonderful." The interweaving of artistic concepts and the real experiences of its users elevates the building from a cold, impersonal space to a warm and human one.

設計的人文厚度，在 “家庭森林” 的理念中體現得淋漓盡致。建筑師打破了傳統高爾夫俱樂部以運動為核心的設計模式，將 “家庭” 與 “社區” 置于首位。室外的綠色平臺成了孩子們追逐嬉戲的樂園，室內靈活的空間則為老人提供了交流的場所，不同年齡段的人在這里都能找到屬于自己的天地。這種設計背后，是對人們情感需求的深刻洞察 —— 高爾夫俱樂部不應只是運動的場所，更應是家庭團聚、代際互動的溫馨空間。就像一位俱樂部會員所說：“以前帶孩子來俱樂部，只能讓他在一旁等待，現在他可以在綠色平臺上和其他孩子玩耍，我則能和家人在泳池邊放松，這樣的設計讓我們的家庭時光更加美好。” 藝術理念與用戶的真實經歷交織，讓這座建筑不再冰冷，而是充滿了人文溫度。

The interior and exterior design of the Singapore Island Country Club, drawing inspiration from nature and humanity, creates a beautiful canvas of "symbiosis with nature and community integration" across 11,754 square meters. More than just a building, it is a spiritual home that embodies people's aspirations for a better life. Visitors can experience the functional beauty and emotional warmth of the space, blending nature and humanity.
